The Knesset Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee on Monday approved the new Reserve Duty Bill, which is scheduled to receive final Knesset approval on Wednesday.
The bill states reserve duty soldiers may not be called to more than 54 days of service in a three-year period. The maximum for officers during the same period is 84 days.
The soldiers will receive a salary equal to at least NIS 5,400 a month, pro-rated in accordance to the number of days of reserve duty. They will also receive tax breaks.
