Rising Tensions in Coalition

The word coming out of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert’s Office is “If Barak wishes to leave the coalition, let him do so”.

The comment is in response to reported remarks made by Barak, the Labor Party leader, in his meeting on Sunday with bereaved families, expressing his agreement with them that Olmert should have left office in light of the Second Lebanon War and the damaging Winograd Commission report which document the failures of government.

Ynet, quoting members of Olmert’s staff expressed bewilderment, stating if Barak feels as he does, why did he remain in the coalition government following the release of the Winograd report?
