Israel Police on Sunday evening arrested two youths, apparently connected to the Peleg Yerushalmi, suspects of severely beating a talmid of Mir Brechfeld in Modi’in Illit. The 18-year-old bochur took a ride from a neighborhood inside Kiryat Sefer to yeshiva in the Brechfeld neighborhood of Modi’in Illit on motzei Shabbos.
According to the Kikar Shabbos News report, there were three youths seated in the vehicle in which the unsuspecting bochur entered. According to the victim, shortly after being seated, they began beating him all over his body, without mercy, adding at one point, they were choking him. During the beating, he reports hearing one of the three accusing him of being the person who tore down some of the “Eitz”, Peleg Yerushalmi election posters in the city. After a few minutes of beating their passenger, he was thrown from the vehicle near the yeshiva, with the victim reporting the driver tried to run him over as he sped off.
Beaten and bruised, the victim got to the yeshiva and explained what occurred to his friends. They ran out into the street in the hope of spotting the vehicle, which had long left the area.
Laster in the night, after recovering from the beating somewhat, he made his way to the police station to report what occurred. He filed an official complaint, leading police to probe the incident and make arrests. Two suspects have been taken into custody.
