HaGaon Rav Levi Halprin ZT”L was niftar during the predawn hours Thursday, 16 Marcheshvan, in Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Hospital, at the age of 85. To most, Rav Halprin’s name was linked to his Institute of Science & Halacha, which was a trailblazer in finding halachic solutions to today’s technology in line with piskei halacha of Gedolei Yisrael.
Having become an expert in the field, the rav also authored numerous seforim on the topic of halacha and technology. He spent his life finding mehadrin min hamehadrin solutions to issues involving today’s technological realities without ever compromising his Torah values and always in line with Gedolei Hador.
The levaya began at 11:00AM in front of Beis Medrash Zichron Batya at 14 Gesher HaChaim Street in Makor Baruch and kvura was in Har Menuchos.

I remember meeting him and talking to him about science and technology many many years ago. He did some very important investigation into halachic use regarding difficult technological devices.
His son who has taken over is also a very BIG talmud chachum who continues in his ways.
