A Canadian tourist visiting Israel together with family changed his clothing in a Tel Aviv train station and forgot a bag containing $15,000 on Tuesday, 14 Marcheshvan. When he realized what he did, he backtracked and when he got back to the station, he found his bag with all of his money.
The staff at the Haganah station are accustomed to travelers forgetting items on the train, but they admit they do not remember a case in which someone left $15,000.
The traveler is an Israeli living in Canada, David, who arrived for a visit. He was on the train from Ben-Gurion Airport to Hadera. A short time after changing trains at the Tel Aviv Haganah station, he recalled that he had left his bag containing the money, which was intended for his family that he is visiting.
David got off of the train and headed back to the station as fast as circumstances permitted. At the same time, the station manager was informed that a black bag containing the money was found on one of the platforms. When David arrived, the bag was returned to him with the money.
He explains he was overdressed since in Canada it is quite cold already and in Tel Aviv, it was quite the hot day. This is why he decided to remove some of his overclothing, leading to forgetting the bag.
