There were reports of an attempted shooting attack against IDF soldiers in the PA (Palestinian Authority) controlled area of Halhul, along Route 60 south of Kiryat Arba.

It is reported on Wednesday morning, 15 Marcheshvan, that soldiers believed gunfire was directed at them on Tuesday night, prompting them to respond with deterrence fire. There were no injuries reported and one suspect was taken into custody by the force.

It was determined later on that gunfire was not directed at the soldiers as the unit first believed to be the case.

During counter-terrorism operations throughout Yehuda and Shomron during the night, IDF soldiers working with border police and the Shin Bet arrested 16 PA residents suspected of involvement in terrorism and/or violent protests against security forces.
