NYC Public Advocate, and Mayoral contender had the following to say after the indictment of Julio Acevedo:

“Drunk drivers need to be taken off the road, and the failure to suspend Julio Acevedo’s license for drunk driving before he took the life of a young family in Williamsburg is unconscionable. This driver should never have been put back behind the wheel. The safety of every New Yorker who walks, bikes or drives in our city depends on holding people accountable when they break the law and put others in danger.”
