  1. Definitely a lot more to this story it’s obvious with all this cryptic talk. Well if you asking ppl to invest their emotions and daven for him properly I think the ppl deserve details as to the entire real situation. That’s the way I see it

  2. Augumstone, I checked other websites and I don’t see it posted anywhere that he was found.

Anon21, you don’t have to daven if you don’t want but it is is entirely within their right to be uncomfortable sharing personal information to the entire world. This is not a drama series; it’s real people with real lives. Don’t get more emotionally involved than you want.

  3. It seems he has not been found. Can the moderators please confirm. And if R”L he has not been found, please remove the false/incorrect comments. There is enough confusion surrounding this incident, without adding Fake News.

  4. Anon21, your comment rings of selfishness. What difference does it make if you know the details or not! A Jew is in distress! Can you only care if you KNOW everything! Rethink it! Daven for him, his parents and siblings.

  5. Augumstone, as of 22 minutes after your post, the family was still saying he was NOT found.

My guess is you heard about the resolution of an unrelated missing person story out of Flatbush.

  6. ANON21, truly, you are listening to the voice of your yetzer hara, rationalizing that finding out someone else’s personal information is some kind of a mitzvah, that it will help you pray for him more powerfully.
    Meh.
You are whom, exactly? The police? Shomrim? EMT? Very self- important, you sound. But please reflect:
This is nothing but an excuse for base curiosity. Litmus test: think about any issue that may chalila one day prompt you to beseech the oilam to pray for you or a close relative. But the nature of the problem is no one else’s business. As we are all “am echad” just knowing a general fact, i.e., refuah sheleima, pidyon shvuyim, missing person, serious operation, poverty…is plenty.
Respecting someone’s privacy is a chiyuv, and a very strong obligation on all Jews.

  7. Anon21

Let me say to you better.

YOU ARE A YENTA!!!! what difference does it make to you what the circumstances are or anything like that? You want to know what the guy had for breakfast this morning? You want to know where he was a month ago, what he ate over there? What the gehenom is the difference? Shame on you!

  8. Is it me or do we seem to be having more missing person cases than ever before? There must be a reason? What can we do as a community?

  9. I think there are people that comment on YWN that are not Jewish otherwise how else to explain the cold-hardness of your soul if you even have one.

I mean seriously what is going on with your life that you need to make such insensitive jerk comments.

  10. I fully disagree with Mrs D. IF IT IS TRUE THAT HE WAS FOUND , AS STATED THEN IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT
IF THE OILOM WAS ASKED TO TAKE TIME OFF FROM WHATEVER THEY ARE DOING TO SEARCH FOR HIM , THEN THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO KNOW WHAT BROUGHT THIS SITUATION ABOUT WHETHER THE REASON FOR HIS DISAPPEARANCE WAS UNAVOIDABLE , OR WAS SOME OTHER REASON WHICHJ SHOULD MAKE HIM ACCOUNT FOR THE INCONVENIENCE HE CAUSED OTHERS!!!!!!
NO ONE ASKING FOR THE DETAILS , JUST THE REASON THAT THE ABOVE ACTIONS WERE JUSTIFIIED!!!!!!!
WHERE WAS HE AND WHY DID HE LEAVE THE YESHIVA RIGHT AFTER RETURNING FROM BEIN HAZMANIM?
THESE ARE QUESTIONS THAT THE OILOM HAS A RIGHT TO REQUEST ANSWERS FOR!!!

  11. Takes 2 2 tango
My point all along exactly. He was never missing. He went somewhere that the parents didn’t approve of. Hence they called him in missing then lo and behold they find him “safe and sound” and don’t release his whereabouts. I’m not an idiot

  12. “THESE ARE QUESTIONS THAT THE OILOM HAS A RIGHT TO REQUEST ANSWERS FOR!!!”

As much as I disagree with this statement, I will say this, the father has a facebook page, the father is listed in the phone book. Call him up and ask him yourself, if you are brave enough, or does your bravery extend to hiding behind an anonymous screen name behind your keyboard.

  13. .interjection,
” you don’t have to daven if you don’t want” is false
Since We’re obligated to”get more emotionally involved “…

  14. Mrs D,

Obviously Anon and SMFG are the same commentator.. I refuse to believe there are more than one Jew with that mentality.

What is wrong with just davening l’shem Shomyaim, another Jew in distress. If you really need to know then do not daven. Did you even take your time off to search for him?

  15. Anon21, takes22tango, smfg3, if you don’t want to daven for him, if you don’t want to search for him, you don’t have to. This was a call for “chesed”. Chesed is properly done without asking these questions. If someone is in distress, you can choose to do chesed (i.e. help) or not. Nobody is forcing you to do anything. If they want to protect their privacy and ask people for help, then they’ll receive help from people who don’t ask questions and those that “need” these answers can stay home. When someone is having a heart attack, hatzolah will go regardless of whether the person led a healthy lifestyle or not.

  16. Anon21. You are an idiot. And the proof is that your excited that T2T agrees with you.

Anyone who has read any of his previous comments knows fully well what that means.

  17. Dear SMFG3, whose capitalization shows you are obviously uber passionate about this topic (a personal nerve perhaps? If so, i am sorry for that). I see where you are coming from, but do not concur with your reasoning. This is not like people who waste tax dollars criminally reporting emergencies falsely. The father was in earnest, and in most cases, the police don’t get involved till things reach a clearly urgent state. Which could be the case even if the missing bachur was just being a wise guy for a couple of days.
Bottom line, or as they say in Israel, tachles, the facts you do not know, and they are not your/our business. You and ANON and your ilk can gripe that the plea to daven on a possibly false premise was a vicious waste of our precious time and that consequently we the davening public are owed an explanation. I do not see how this would change anything. The factual narure of the case is between the family and the authorites. The validity of the prayer requests? You have free choice in every case, pray or don’t pray. And don’t forget, no tefillah is a waste. The urgency of this bachur’s case may have been in doubt, but our chiyuv not to pry into another Yid’s privacy is never in doubt.
And in conclusion, recall the story of the yid who came to the Satmar Rov ztz”l begging for a huge amount of emergency money, mamesh pikuach nefesh, and the Rav gave very generously. After he left, the gabbai felt compelled to reveal to the Rebbe that the guy was a charlatan and needed no money. Did the Rebbe demand the fellow be brought back and forced to return the money, and maybe give him a thrashing to boot, when this money could have gone to someone truly deserving? No, the Rebbe simply said, “You mean he’s not sick?! Baruch Hashem.”

  18. to anon21
please write your real name so people will know to not make a shiduch with anybody remotely related to you

a parent puts out a plea to daven for their child and you can bring yourself to say tehilim unless you know all the details
what kind of a sick puppy are you

  19. Yes, it would be nice to know where he was found and why he was missing. However, although we worried and davened the family has a right to their privacy. They don’t have to divulge their personal matters.

  20. Takes 2 to tango needs to be evaluated for sanity and for his being a jew. He is clearly iireligious, and a sack of garbage, and should be taken out with the trash.

  21. Dumb stupid fools, shotim shebaolam!

We have no rights to anything! Nobody has a right to anything! Nobody deserves anything! You fools obviously dont even daven on yom kippur!

We say in the al cheits, for the aveirah of sikur ayin, prying eyes. We dont need to know details about anything private!

On top of that, you should help worried parents, even if their worries are not founded, so one day when you have your own narishkeit worries, people will help you! When you ask for details, people will ask for details about you in your distress, middah kineged middah!

We daven for klal yisrael every day in every bracha in shemoneh esrei three times a day. And we daven for each person’s personal geulah. All of a sudden someone points out a specific person for you to daven for and you take issue with it? Are you mentally retarded or just lacking a brain entirely? You must never have paid any attention to a single shemoneh esrei you have ever said, although I doubt you daven at all.

    Worthless, wastes of yidden….

  22. Let it go. Obviously this turned out not to be a typical missing person case and there were some unfortunate family issues involved but why do so many feel an entitlement to know the details. B’H, the bochur is back in school and safe and that should be enough.

  23. Oy… We have become so desensitized to everything we hear… Nothing shocks us anymore… Oy vey we lost our ability to feel… Oy vey! HaShem please help is feel

  24. @gadolhadorah you put it very nicely! Just because someone asks you to daven for them doesn’t mean you have to ask all your foolish questions ! If you don’t have true love for your brothers rather don’t daven ! You might make it worse!! Nebach soooo sad!

  25. Amazing how many yentas there are here. What’s the difference why he was missing? No one here has a single clue as to where he was or even why. One meshigina wrote about family situation as if they know what they’re talking about (they probably don’t!).

The bottom line is, even though you live in the information age where some feel the need to know EVERYONE’S g’sheft, sometimes you really DON’T have to know. Be satisfied in knowing that BH he is safe and not ch’v you know what.

  26. To Mrs. D – I fully agree. It isn’t our business what happened, why, where etc etc. What matters is that we show achdus in doing OUR bit to help, whether it’s by saying Tehillim, giving tzedaka, making a mi sheberach, or going out searching – whatever we are able to do. After that, we don’t have a right to ask, we just say BH when things turn out well.

I have been posting extensively about a young chosson (whose bris I attended!) with yena machla R”L, asking for Tehillim. I can’t tell you how many people contacted me to ask for all the gory details ( yes, I knew them.) IT IS NOT THEIR BUSINESS! Why do you have to know every detail of everyone’s tsuris? What, your own isn’t painful enough?? If it isn’t, then you are truly blessed and should have even more rachamim for sufferers. MYOB!

But here is the PS: the chosson is BH, BH, in remission, so much so he has just rescheduled his chassaneh. And there is absolutely no doubt that it was because of everyone’s Tefillos and mitzvos they took on, because his prognosis was really not good. Mamash a neis.

  27. For all those heaping abuse and curses on Anon21, take them back as he/she is actually correct. As a Baltimore resident all I will say is that there are other issues at play here. However I will NOT fill in the blanks loshon-hora style.

Regarding SFMG3 comment, y’all will notice that unlike true searches for missing people R”L, there was no mention of the involvement of groups such as Hatzoloh or Chaverim aiding in this situation. Anyone who volunteered to just go out and search all over their borough or state without given any direction or even specific identifying information such as what he was last seen wearing (even if it was a white shirt and black pants) is like looking for a needle in a haystack. I HAVE been on missing person searches and have always been assigned a sector/area with some kind of unique identifying information. There are other missing pieces as well.

If you have nothing better to do after reading this than to curse me out, then your time is better spent by learning from a sefer, reading a book of Jewish interest or volunteering for something to improve the life of your fellow Jew, OK? Any issues, reread the post again. Thank you

  28. Explaining /Defining the “chutzpah yasgei” of the yemos ha’mashiach, Rav Avrohom Yitzchok HaKohein Kook ztzvk”l said as follows. During the yemos ha’mashiach there will be (has been) a great revelation of chochmah. The chutzpah will be that everyone will feel they have a right to know it. Vi’hameivin yovin.

  29. MRS. D.
You totally misinterpreted my comment. I was NOT referring to tefillos on behalf of the bochur!
I was referring to all those who went out of their way for the search to find him…They ARE entitled
to know if it was legitimately justified or not , and hence he should be made to account accordingly.

  30. sha-shtil, I find it ironic that you are supporting Anon21’s argument of people “deserving” details about this story yet you provide no details that you claim to have. Obviously, you think it’s not right to share details which is the opposite of what Anon21 is saying. I’m not saying it’s right to curse, but it is despicable to feel that one “has a right” to personal information. If you don’t want to help because you think something is fishy, that’s your right, but even if people help, there’s still no right to DEMAND answers. It’s ridiculous.

Anyone with a half a brain understands that there’s more to the story than what was posted. If people are so curious that they “”must” know all the details, they need to get a life and move on.

  31. Nebech, this is becoming an all too frequent event.

Unfortunately, in the age of the internet when a situation like this arises the entire world sees it, like it or not.
