Hundreds of mispallalim visited the kever of Yehoshua bin Nun located in the PA (Palestine Authority) village of Kifl Haris on Sunday night, ahead of Rosh Chodesh Marcheshvan. IDF officials decided to permit the scheduled event despite the fatal shooting attack that took place in the Barkan Industrial Park Sunday morning. Among those taking part in the event was the head of the Shomron Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, and the Brigade Commander, Colonel Idan Katz.
Dagan stated it was important to continue with the planned event especially following the fatal attack that occurred in the area. He stressed that the area residents remain committed to continue living and building in the area. He saluted the IDF and its officers, who remain on the front line, drawing an analogy to Am Yisrael’s “first commander”, Yehoshua bin Nun.

In this village Calev ben Yifuneh is buried as well as is Nun, Yehoshua’s father. To get to Yehoshua’s Kever you walk through the village for about 10 minutes. Around 5 minutes in is Calev’s Kever adjacent to a tiny arab cemetery with a couple of graves. Nun’s kever is around 3 minutes after Yehoshua’s kever . The picture above is of the courtyard next to Yehoshua’s Kever.
