Suhad, 25, from Kalansua, is employed as a teacher in a Jewish school in Ramat Sharon. On Wednesday, 24 Adar 5773, she and fellow teacher Roital Walkov traveled to Yerushalayim to make a shiva visit to the home of the school principal, who is mourning the loss of a parent. They told police the trouble began when they arrived in the Kiryat Moshe area of the capital.
Suhad explains “When I got out of the vehicle, two youths, about 15 or 16, dati, realized that I am an Arab and expressed their shock over my daring to enter their community. They began attacking us and they smashed the rear window of the car and slashed the vehicle’s tires.”
Suhad continued to describe the horror of the attack, adding she is a teacher in a Jewish school and this came as a total shock. The two fled while calling police.
Police arrived, took a report and began searching the area of the attackers. One suspect was taken into custody, admitting to taking part in the assault. Police told the media additional arrests in the case are expected.
In another reported hate crime, police have decided to file a criminal indictment against a number of Jewish teenage girls arrested in connection to the assault against an Arab female at a light rail stop in the Kiryat Moshe area of the capital. Police report they have completed their investigation into the attack and believe the attack was another hate crime targeting the female Arab victim as the video evidence shows. The defendants are represented by Honenu attorney Itamar Ben-Givir. Ben-Givir insists his clients acted in self defense, accusing police of launching a “politically motivated” case against innocent people. He adds that he remains confident the trial will serve to prove his client’s innocence.

What a chillul Hashem!
Why did you change charedi to dati?
These people should all be kept behind bars for a long, long time so that they will no longer be able to incite our enemies against us.
Were these hareidim or dati leumi involved?
Given current policies being advocated by Bayit Yehudi and their allies to conscript hareidi kids at 18, and force the hareidi schools to cut back on learning Torah, and to criminalize using hareidi courts (all articles in YWN recently, and which I’ve verified in the hiloni press) – we may find ourselves allied with Arabs very soon. The teacher in question seems like the sort who would probably be part of the Israeli left (an nationalist wouldn’t teach in a Jewish school).
Whether we like it or not, we may soon be forced to conclude that our principle enemy in Eretz Yisrael is not the Palestinian.
What is hateful to you, do not do to others. We must set the example and not allow a few idiots to commit acts which can be blown up by the media into major events or give our enemies reason to retaliate upon us. Look at what is happening in france, england, germany and other european nations including those we once thought might be friendly to Jews and Israel.
