Fire Department Issues A Closure Order For The Mevasseret Tzion Kiryat Chinuch

On Wednesday, 24 Tishrei, a hearing was held in the Jerusalem Fire & Rescue officials pertaining to the Mevasseret Zion Educational Campus, where educational institutions operate. At the end of the hearing, the district commander decided that the boarding school would be closed immediately, following the failure to meet safety and fire protection arrangements that endanger the lives of the residents.

The hearing was held before Commander of the Jerusalem District Fire & Rescue Division Moshe Sussia, and it was attended by the commander of the Beit Shemesh station, Reuven Yitzhak, and Yifat Frankenburg, the legal advisor of the Jerusalem district. Following the hearing it was decided that the structure of the boarding school of the educational institutions in the Education Campus, with more than 100 pupils, will be closed immediately!

The decision was made following the inspection by fire department inspectors from the Beit Shemesh District, which revealed serious findings regarding fire safety of the facility, which constituted a real and immediate danger to the lives of the students living in the boarding school.

The hearing also revealed that, despite numerous warnings to correct the safety failures, nothing was done to correct the pressing issues, resulting in the order for the immediate closure.
