The founder of Bnei Brak’s Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital, Rabbi Dr. Moshe Rothschild was Niftar on Shabbos at age 89.
YWN-Israel reported that the doctor was taken to his own hospital in serious condition on the first day of Chol Hamoed Sukkos after a piece of the elevator ceiling in his home fell on him.
The doctor was known to be close to many Gedolim including HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita, who visited the hospital on Tuesday, the first day of Chol Hamoed Sukkos.
Amazingly, Kikar Shabbos reports Rav Chaim Kanievsky awoke on Shabbos morning and told family members he had dreamt the doctor was Niftar. Only 2 hours later did the unfortunate news reach Rav Chaim’s house.
Dr. Rothschild leaves behind 17 children. One son, Rav Micha Rothschild, was seriously injured in an accident in 2009 and remains hospitalized in a comatose state since.
Today, two sons, Shlomo and Natan, continue overseeing the operation of the hospital.
The Levaya took place on Motzei Shabbos, leaving the Frum-operated hospital to the Vishnitz Beis Hachaim. Per the direction of Rav Chaim Kanievsky, there were no Hespidim.
Among the thousands who participated in the Levaya were many Gedolim, including Rav Chaim Kanievsky, Rav Gershon Edelstein, Rav Meir Tzvi Bergman, Rav Berel Povarsky, Rav Dov Landau and Rav Moshe Hillel Hirsch.
MKs Moshe Gafni and Yaakov Asher were among the politicians who participated.

The Doctor received an open check as a donation when the hospital opened from the Lubavitcher Rebbe.
The Rebbe also advised him to call it a bais refuah & NOT a bais chilim.

Truly saddened by this passing of my 2nd cousin TZKLLH’H. I have met him Numerous times. May his wonderful Almonoh, Rose-Eliane, and all 17 children be comforted among the Mourners of Zion .
