Chester Town Supervisor Resigns, Weeks After Plotting To “Keep The Hasidic Out”

Chester Town Supervisor Alex Jamieson pled guilty in Albany County Court on Tuesday, admitting that he collected $5,695 in state unemployment benefits while working, MidHudsonNews.com reported.

Jamieson pled guilty to two counts of filing a false instrument for filing, will serve no jail time and will have to resign from his town job.

He will also have to make full restitution by the time he is sentenced in November.

The sudden development comes weeks after Jamieson and the township, located near the Hasidic village of Kiryas Joel, came under fire for allegedly plotting to “keep the Hasidic out.”
