A swarm of locusts in Egypt has crossed the border into Israel on Monday 22 Adar 5773. The swarm is described as “small” and crop dusting planes and other means were deployed rapidly to attack the unwanted visitors before the situation deteriorates to the magnitude of the Egyptian infestation.

Farmer Tzachi Rimon told Channel 10 News that while the locusts may not have ruined Pharaoh, “they can definitely ruin us”, explaining they are carefully monitoring the situation, which experts explain is very much dependent on wind direction and strength.
