Tekoa’s Rabbi Menachem Fruman Z”L was niftar after fighting a difficult illness over the past two years. He was an outspoken of dialogue with terrorist leaders towards achieving peace. The rav was 68-years-old. The levaya begins at noon in his home community of Tekoa.

Former Defense Minister Moshe Arens was hospitalized after collapsing at a public gathering. He was treated by MDA and Ichud Hatzalah and transported to a Tel Aviv hospital in stable condition.

Labor Party leader Shelly Yacimovich reports that former party member Amir Peretz was involved in paying for votes in the party’s primary election. Peretz has moved to The Movement Party.

Police have arrested three males suspected of taking part in an assault against an Arab male in Tiveria. Two of them appear connected to a similar assault in Tel Aviv, police investigators report.

11:00:

The Jerusalem District Court lifted gag order, permitting publication of the star state witness in Holyland trial against former PM Olmert. The witness who was recently niftar was Shmuel Dechner, a real estate developer and Holocaust survivor.

The PA Ma’an News Agency reports that Egyptian forces uncovered a weapons case in Sinai east of el-Arish including anti-tank mines.
