Addressing talmidim and avreichim, HaGaon HaRav Dov Landau Shlita spoke of the gezeira facing the Torah velt, and the possible loss of ruchniyus that may result chas v’sholom. The rosh yeshiva spoke of the ongoing effort to “dress them in the stained clothing of the to’evas giyus”, labeling this a “gezeiras shmad”.
The rosh yeshiva added that “we, the bnei Torah have a responsibility and must do hishtadlus, to include one’s limud during this critical time. The Rosh yeshiva called for increasing one’s efforts בו אדם למקום as well as בו אדם לחברו with special focus placed on the utilization of the times designated for limud and tefilla.

I agree with the Slobodka rosh yeshiva. It is high time for the talmidim to increase their efforts both bein adom l’Makom and bein adom l’chaveiro – Enlist in Tzahal now!
Calling for better ‘bein adam lamakom’ and ‘bein adam lechavero’ while terming service with fellow Jews in the defense of am yisrael as ‘shmad’ and ‘toeva’ is akin to ‘tovel veshertz beyado’. No good comes of it.
Gefet: If you had bothered to try to understand the article, it is clear that both BA LaMakom and BA LaChaveiro would compel them to stay in learning and out of the Zionist indoctrination force known as the IDF.
The BA LaMakom is obvious; the BA LaChaveiro is that they are not doing anyone a favor by shmadding themselves in the IDF and they are also not fulfilling BA LaChaveiro by depriving the State of Israel of their learning.

Right, the Yeshiva bochurim should stop learning and join the army. This will obviously increase the amount of Torah being learnt. And I’m sure the chillonim will spend their extra time off learning and davening as well.
