Frum Man Wins 17 Million NIS Lottery


payisA shomer Shabbos man in his 30s explains that he works but earns a minimal wage. His wife is at home with the children, and they struggle, but Baruch Hashem raising their family and getting by. The young man decided to buy a simple 11 NIS lottery ticket and when he arrived at work, he checked the lottery website online and realized he was a winner.

He left work with a big smile on his face and headed to the lottery headquarters to ascertain how much he won. He learned that the 11 NIS earned him 17 million NIS.

He young man explains that he never dreamed of having enough money to buy an apartment, and now he will, but only after giving ma’aser on his winnings. He then hopes to learn full time and assist his extended family, most of whom he explains are struggling to pay their bills and get by.

  1. I often see people spending 60 to 100 shekels a time on lottery tickets and I always wondered at this lack of emunah. If Hashem wants you to win the lottery, you will. You will not increase your chances by spending for more than “a simple 11 NIS lottery ticket .”

  2. I am now waiting with bated breath to read all the etzehs this man will doubtless receive on how, and to whom, he should extend his new-found largesse.

    Yeshivot, orphanages, kolelim, batei knesset and so forth will doubtless all be pushing and shoving to be the very first in line.

    They will soon come up against Mifal HaPayis’s “screeners” who already have 62 years of experience in these matters.
