Apartments To Be Constructed For Jews In Jerusalem’s Beit Haninah Neighborhood

The Jerusalem Local Planning Board on Wednesday, 25 Elul, is expected to approve a plan for the construction of 150 apartments to be divided among Jews and Arabs in the Beit Haninah neighborhood of the capital. The plan calls for an equal division of the new housing units.

The construction of apartments for Jews in the Arab neighborhood of the capital is being called a historic event, and the plan expected to be approved is comprehensive; including full specifications and green areas and is expected to start immediately if objections are not submitted.

The new project will be constructed on an eleven dunam (2.75) acre plot of land, and it calls for eight buildings, four in each sector, with each building being 7-to-12 stories.

Jerusalem Councilman Aryeh King is among the initiators of the project and he was a partner in the legal process for evacuating the Arabs from the compound about five years ago, settling it with Jews as part of his ongoing efforts to reclaim Jerusalem for Jews.
