Missing Ramat Gan Girl May be Living in Ashdod

This is one of those stories one hears about but questions the validity of the facts. This is the case of Alexandra (Sasha) Brandt, who disappeared on her way home from school in Ramat Gan almost two decades ago, on November 24, 1994.

The case broke last week, when the mother arrived at an Ashdod home and saw the face of the young woman, 29, now with a different last name. She immediately said that the young lady was her daughter. Lilach Talya, Sasha’s sister agrees with mom, that the woman does bear a striking similarity to their missing daughter/sister.

Police arrived at the home, and reports say they too saw a striking similarity with the woman and the mother. The woman however insists it cannot be, and she willingly gave a DNA sample which will soon provide a conclusive response to the question.

Police involved in the case add that back in 2003 there was a person in custody who admitted to murdering Sasha, but an extensive investigation into that claim backed by evidence proved his statement as false.

There are many questions surrounding the limited information released by police but it appears authorities prefer to wait for the conclusive DNA results and then announce the outcome regarding the relationship of the 29-year-old woman and the mother of Sasha Brandt.
