Home Of Israel Atomic Energy Commission Chief Burglarized

Police are investigating a burglary that occurred in a Beit Yitzchak home in the Sharon area, the home of Dr. Shaul Horev, who heads Israel’s Atomic Energy Commission. Among the items reportedly stolen was the employee’s bag, which contained a laptop, communications devices, entry permits to official offices and unspecified documents. The break in occurred on Sunday 14 Adar 5773 at about 21:30. It appears the couple was at home at the time.

Officials involved in the investigation report nothing confidential was taken, adding “if this was a spy affair it would have ended differently.”

Maariv reports the burglars were most likely “Two Palestinians from the Tulkarem area who were unaware the home they selected belongs to a senior staff member in the PMO.” They were seeking valuables for sale, not a mission to obtain classified documents from the Prime Minister’s Office.

Police confirm that Moshav Beit Yitzchak has been plagued with burglaries, seeking to strengthen the theory that the house was targeted at random, not because of owners works for the prime minister.
