Yad Ephraim Operating Full Force in Maimonides Hospital On Purim


yad ephriam logo 2.jpgEzras Cholim Yad Ephraim is once again rising to the occasion!  This Purim, Yad Ephraim will be hosting the following services in Maimonides Medical Center.

Thursday, Tanis Esther – At 8:10 p.m. there will be a minyan mariv in the hospital’s shul located on the main floor, followed by megillah leining at 8:20 p.m.  After megillah leining, Yad Ephraim volunteers will distribute delicious meals to patients and their companions.

Friday, Purim – At 7:30 a.m. there will be a minyan shachris in the hospital’s shul, followed by megillah leining at 8:10 a.m.  After megillah leining, Yad Ephraim volunteers will distribute a breakfast/mishloach manos combo that will start the day off just right.  At 12 noon, Yad Ephraim volunteers will distribute a Purim meal that will make all its recipients feel truly festive.

Founded over two years ago, Yad Ephraim has quickly achieved recognition as one of the premier chesed organizations servicing our community.  Yad Ephraim is a not-for-profit organization comprised solely of volunteers, and is under the rabbinical auspices of R’ Shrageh Hager shlita of Kosov, and R’ Nachman Yechiel Michel Steinmentz shlita, the Skver dayan.  Yad Ephraim’s flagship program features a group of over 200 dedicated volunteers who assemble and distribute complete dinner meals during the week, as well as on Shabbos and Yom Tov to family members and companions of patients in Maimonides Medical Center and the Metropolitan Jewish Geriatric Center.  Furthermore, Yad Ephraim distributes specialty packages on Purim, Chanukah, Chol Hamoed, etc., and at the end of every fast.  From the ER to the ICU’s, from the Labor and Delivery Unit to all other floors, there is no area that Yad Ephraim does not visit.

  1. Tizku Lemitzvos! Their services on Shabbos are wonderful.

    At the same time, people shouldl note the oustanding work of Bikur Cholim of Boro Park, which — in addition rto many other activities outside teh hospital — has been assisting patients at the hospital for decades. They serve meals every day, have volunteers who assist and liaison for patients and families, and provide the Bikur Cholim rooms at Maimonides and Lutheran hospitals. They coordinate Megillah leining, Shofar blowing, and — for teh past few years — a Pesach Seder.

    Mi k’amcha Yisroel! Kol mi sh’oskim b’tzorchei tzibbur be’emunah, Hakadosh Baruch Hu yeshaleim secharam.
