MK Ran Cohen, who was defeated in the Meretz Party primary race on Tuesday, told reporters that he does not plan to run for the party leadership again at a future date. It was not Cohen’s first attempt to place himself in the party leadership slot, but he has never been successful.

Cohen indicated that he will not “run anymore,” perhaps signaling he will not run for a Knesset slot in the next general election.

Cohen, 57, has been a member of Knesset since 1984.
