Members of Knesset from the Yahadut Hatorah faction have announced they would not break from the coalition government, even if this means continued Chilul Shabbos on the Tel Aviv Yehudit pedestrian bridge project, KAN Reshet Bet News reported on Sunday, 15 Elul.
According to the report, the faction members decided between themselves, secretly, that even if the Chilul Shabbos continues, they are not leaving the government, for they are well-aware, elections would most likely result in a less chareidi-friendly coalition.
The MKs are continuing to cry out publicly, but they do not plan to take it to the ‘coalition crisis’ level. In short, it is nothing but a charade.
The report also cites this is perhaps the main reason that Yaakov Litzman resigned his post as Minister of Health and is making due as Deputy Minister, albeit the acting minister. By doing so, he is able to tell constituents he is not a member of the cabinet, and therefore, he and the faction are not responsible for the Chilul Shabbos since a deputy minister does not play a role in cabinet decisions.

yudel,
whoa.rather than cheapen it,save that for many others
First you write that “Members of Knesset from the Yahadut Hatorah faction have announced…”
and then you write that “the faction members decided between themselves, secretly, …”
So if they decided secretly, when/where/how did they announce it?!
They wouldn’t break the coalition even If they would be forced to cut their beards and eat pork….corrupt corrupt politicians who done care nor listen to what the gedolim tell them.
This was clearly foretold by the holy Satmar Rav in his magnum opus The V’yoel Moshe….
This is also the reason why initially Reb Chaim Brisker ZTL was against the Aguda, as he was concerned that eventually the decisions will be made by the laymen & not by the Rabonim… well here we are
