The Cellcom Company warns subscribers of a phishing SMS messages and emails sent to persons in the company’s name.
According to company sources, in recent days there has been a phishing attack in which messages are sent to customers via text message or email. The messages update the end of the service package and request one click on a hyperlink requesting credit information.
With phishing detection, the company has taken protective action and notified subscribers to be aware, advising subscribers to also contact their credit card company.
In a notice to customers, “Dear customer, in recent days, some of the cellular phone subscribers have received SMS messages to renew the cellular package, as well as a link to enter credit card details.” Anyone who has entered credit card details, is advised to contact their credit card company.
In a similar matter, Shufersal last week reported a similar phishing attack via SMS, in which recipients were offered shopping coupons. The supermarket chain announced it is not behind those messages.
