According to a Lebanese media report, an Israel submarine is operating off the southern coast of that country. The report states the discovery was made by French soldiers who are serving as part of the UN international peacekeeping force in the area. The vessel is reportedly patrolling and carrying out training exercises in an area between Sidon and Tzur.
It should be remembered that of late, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz and others released statements that Israel will not permit the transfer of chemical weapons to Hizbullah under other circumstances. If the Lebanese report is indeed accurate, it could signal one of the Israeli operations taking place to prevent the transfer of the non-conventional weaponry to Hizbullah hands.

How come the French “peacekeeping” forces are so good at detecting Israeli defensive measures and yet so poor at detecting Hezbollah violations. Ever heard of any U.N. forces detecting Hezbollah rockets? I haven’t.
If the sub is in international waters, as this article implies, this is a non-event. They have a perfect right to be there.
Personally I wouldn’t believe anything the French say about auything.
The only credible thing the French have ever said is “we surrender”
And you thought maybe the Israeli submarines would be off the coast of Switzerland or perhaps Iowa? Where else would you expect Israeli submarines to go?
#3- The French have provided a significant amount of the manpower in the War on Terror, both in Afghanistan and in Africa (most recently in Mali). One should NOT complain. In all fairness, they haven’t done any surrendering in over 50 years.
