The EU has formulated a plan to establish a transportation infrastructure that will connect Gaza to Yehuda and Shomron. The plan was made without updating or involving elements in Israel. This was published on Wednesday morning by Reshet Bet Radio in Israel.
During the deliberations of the Knesset’s Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee on transport, it was revealed that the European Union is formulating a master plan on transportation that will connect Gaza Strip to Yehuda and Shomron, where the Europeans worked for a year and a half without updating or involving elements in Israel. The master plan also includes airports and the sea, railways and roads.
The chairman of the subcommittee, retired IDF Colonel, MK (Bayit Yehudi) Moti Yogev said in response: “As chairman of the Subcommittee for Yehuda and Shomron, I initiated a master plan for transportation in those areas. I demanded from the Ministry of Transportation full data on what is happening with the PA (Palestine Authority).
“During the data collection it was discovered that the Palestinians already have a master plan – prepared and funded by the European Union. Includes the establishment of airports, trains and roads linking Gaza to Judea and Samaria.
“The Europeans are acting insolently behind the back of the State of Israel, against the Israeli interest, with the aim of establishing a Palestinian state. But do not worry, we will use this plan to advance the master plan for Yehuda and Shomron which will benefit Arabs and Jews under Israeli rule.”
EU officials responded to KAN, stating, “we do not need approval from Israel to formulate the master plan on transportation, and therefore we did not ask for such approval. The project is part of the EU’s overall investment in the PA’s governmental activities and in the future vision for the establishment of a Palestinian state.”
