Israel Railways is making progress on the electrification of the Jerusalem-Tel Aviv railway line. In the process, they have committed to not letting any station be closed for an elongated period of time.
The Railway company is attempting to break into the next generation of rail travel and be able to carry more passengers to more locations with more trains. They are also working to ensure the highest safety protocols while allowing for more environmentally friendly travel, according to Israeli media outlets.
The Jerusalem-Tel Aviv line is set to be Israel’s first electric line, the company has to redo the basic electrical work for the line that currently connect Te Aviv to Ben Gurion airport.
Over the next week, one of the railines on that service route will be closed for construction on an alternating basis. Service in both directions will continue, but commuters have been asked to plan for some delays.
