Uproar After Satmar Girls Camp In Bnei Brak Visits Latrun Armored Corps Memorial Site

Dozens of girls from the Satmar community seminar in Bnei Brak arrived last Wednesday at the Yad LaShiryon memorial site for fallen soldiers of the IDF Armored Corps, located in the Latrun Park in the Ayalon Valley.

The girls arrived at the site as part of an official tour of the seminar, after a planned visit to another site was canceled at the last minute for technical reasons, and they stayed there for a while.

The news of the visit of the girls of the Satmar seminary at the IDF memorial site caused a great uproar in the chassidus and among others, especially in light of claims that during the visit, IDF soldiers serving in the area provided assistance to the girls, something denied by the chassidus’ administration in Bnei Brak.

BeChadrei Chareidim reports having learned that internal “nayis” news phonelines of the Eida Chareidis community launched a harsh attack against the visit, claiming that it was “supporting the state of infidels and revolting against the Malchus Shomayim.”

The report also states that at the end of the week, official letters of protest were planned to appear in Israel and the United States pertaining to the visit, but they were shelved before they appeared due to a clarification and apology issued by the Satmar institution in Bnei Brak.

In the letter of clarification and apology, the community administration in Bnei Brak claims that the girls of the seminar happened there by mistake and left it immediately upon realizing what the venue is.

“On Wednesday, Parshas Va’eschanan , the sotan tried to make us fail, and the daughters of our holy institutions came to a place that was not suitable because of the Zionist ugliness, and with dedication, the educators tried to move to another place despite the trouble and difficulties.

The administration explained that “the principals of Beis Chinuch were looking for a suitable place to hold a ‘shpeil’ for the girls attending the camp, which needed a large empty area, and they offered them a space in the Latrun Park. As always when traveling with students, the teachers went ahead to check towards determining the suitability of the venue. When they arrived, during the evening hours, they were brought inside towards determining suitability. They did not see any trace of the unclean army and the like.”

  1. on the day of the parade, arguably the biggest avlah ever, this is what they protest????????????????????????????????

  2. “The sotan tried to make us fail,” the administration says… So the devil made ’em do it! As for soldiers helping the girls, encourage it. It’ll ease the shidduch crisis.

  3. I was in Latrun this week
The main building is almost surrounded by rows of tanks
Hard to miss, even at night
Someone is fibing to try and keep their job

  4. These guys are sick puppies. If they hate the IDF and it’s soldiers why don’t they simply go to Iran or Syria. They would be welcomed there with open arms and we’d be rid of this “machala”.

  5. Boruch Hashem we have Satmar standing up for kovod shomayim like no one else. We all make mistakes and I am happy that the BB kehillah apologized for this unfortunate turn of events. No bas Yisroel should ever go near anything ever remotely connected to the organization which continues to shmad yidden day in day out with the nachal ‘chareidi’ R”L.

  6. To Moshe 1994
I feel sorry for you that you missed the boat!
These Tzadikim are following their Dass Torah from the late Rebbi of Satmer Reb. Yoel Teitelbaum Zt”l who was a bigger Talmid Chochom then you are. They make kamtza and bar kamtza look like amateurs because there was NO Dass Torah in the story of Kamtza Bar Kamtza and here there is 100% Dass Torah!!!! from Reb. Yoel zt”l.

It’s just after the three weeks lets try not bashing another community just because we have been brought up differently with different ideas etc.

  7. A good friend of mine was there when this group arrived. None of them had any idea where they were and they left quite quickly but in the time they were there the girls, or at least most of them, really enjoyed themselves. Several soldiers talked to them and a good time was had by all except the teachers who were screaming in Yiddish to the girls. I heard it was really very amusing. Almost as funny as the apology letter in Ivrit!

  8. Thanks Satmar! I’m going to use this as the plot for our shul’s Purim schpeil next year. It’s the most hilarious thing I’ve read in a long time. Whoever said that Satmar are useless Fifth Column ערב רב don’t know what they’re talking about. They’re great comic relief.

  9. Where is/was the outrage over the gay pride parade prancing thru Yerushalayim ir hakodesh?!
Where were the phony so-called Charedie Knesset members?

  10. Satmar is so terrified that their next generation will not adopt the same sinas chinom that they embody and represent. It’s so pathetic.

  11. Curiosity: Their next generation will be as strong in their hashkafos. And the next generation will be far bigger than the current generation.

Get used to them because there’s going to be much more of them.

  12. To chessed et al…
Though R Yoel did not accept the establishment of the State of Israel in its current formation, I never saw that he called Jewish soldiers “Tamei” and other vile names as are found in the Satmar letter and in numerous posts on the YWN site.
And as far as it being right after the 3 weeks, thats correct, and I believe the Satmar hanhallah, should be aware of that and not call the brave men and women of the IDF “Tamei”, and act towards them with such Sinah. The reality is, the overwhelming majority of the Satmar community do not accept R. Yoel’s hashkafa the way its portrayed by the fanatic screamers, and thats definitely true of the younger generation, like the girls from the Satmar camp who had an enjoyable outing at the museum at Latrun

  13. ‘They did not see any trace of the unclean army and the like’ – leaving aside the ugly Satmerism (‘unclean army’) I have been to Yad LaShiryon and it is absolutely impossible to go there at any time of day or night and not realize that it is an IDF installation. The story beggars belief.

It is noteworthy that the event that Satmar is so clearly lying about occurred ‘on Wednesday, Parshas Va’eschanan’ – the very parsha in which Moshe Rabbeibu A”H begged HKB”H to allow him to enter into and see the Land of Israel.

  14. An interesting thought. After 120, Hashem will show us how the world would have been had their shita been held. All Santa Maria chasidim will have to live in a world without Medinat Yisroel and without the IDF.
Don’t want o be in that world.

  15. Now all the girls of satmer will go and join the holy Israel army instead of the boys I am sending all my daughters to satmer so the boys can roam the streets of beni berk and call that learning

  16. Oh does Hashem have a sense of humor. This couldn’t have happened to a better group of people. I hear Neturei Karta is going there next week for an outing.

  17. Santa Maria chasidus seems terrified of what will happen if their young future haters will meet some real Jews.
    Remember this:
CHINUCH THAT FLOPS OVER IN A RUACH METZUYA IS PASUL CHINUCH.
A hashkafic foundation based on hate and zilzul is not Yiddishkeit.
