“Today I was coming back from the beach in Deal, NJ and called an Uber to pick us up. When the car arrived, I asked the driver how he was feeling. He replied “not so well, I’m out here struggling and trying to make money and you guys are having a beautiful life and enjoying your day.”
Taken aback by his blunt response, I replied that everything comes from G-d and nothing comes from someone themselves. I told him we need to appreciate all the good we do have and enjoy what we can.
He then said “I’m so happy I met respectful young boys.” When he dropped us off, I asked to wait there for a minute. I went inside and got him water and snacks. He then asked if we were Jewish, and when I said yes, he said you guys are amazing people!”

Big Kiddish Hashem. JUst by giving a snack showed you care and it is so important. When somebody works in your house to offer a coffee and maybe some cake.
Waiting for all the oiber chachomim to start their “this is not a kiddush Hashem” rant.

can everyone please stop hitting on these amazing two teenagers who clearly made a Kiddush hashem? The uber driver was clearly annoyed to pick up two “rich, Jewish” teens, when he had to drive to make ends meet. Their gut reaction was to feel bad for such a man and to maybe, raise him up with words of inspiration. What they did was a huge Kiddush Hashem and they should continue, undeterred by the words of haters.
This is mind boggling and unbelievable,
Why do us Jews always have to look at the negative,
Its none of your business if they went to a mixed beach or a separate beach,
and for the one who said taking an Uber is a issur – get a life / Creating your own shilchun aroch is a much larger issur,
Lets make a kiddush hashem among our self’s and respect when someone does an amazing deed ,
These teens are great and we should all be proud
Once and for all, get over it with those who are offended by the use of the term “Kiddush hashem” to describe everyday acts of heroism, kindness, benevolence, etc. Yes, we all know and revere how the term was used for those who were niftar in the shoah with the words of the Shema on their lips and countless other acts of mesiras nefesh for yiddeshkeit but its clear that everyone understands how the term is being used here in these “feel good” news stories about actions by yidden which show the true meaning of yiddeshkeit to a velt that too often sees/hears only the negative stereotypes we are all to frequently subject to.
