PHOTOS: 1,200 Youths Taking Part In Magen David Adom Summer Training Programs

About 750 MDA youth volunteers are upgrading their training in a course for handling a multi-casualty incident. About 470 additional MDA youth volunteers are certified in a course for young instructors and a first aid course. In addition, they will train hundreds of youths to volunteer for the organization.

MDA has already become a tradition for many during summer vacation as MDA youth volunteers undergo a variety of courses and training in order to continue to contribute to MDA’s life-saving missions and to upgrade their professional knowledge.

These days, about 750 MDA youth volunteers participate in the “Multi-Casualty Station” course, which was held in two sessions, significantly upgrading their professional training and providing them with additional knowledge and tools to provide life-saving medical treatment for many casualties. Mass.

EMT Yarden Fleisher, a multi-casualty incident instructor comments: “Hundreds of youth volunteers from all over the country who take part in the training course upgrade their professional knowledge, learn a great deal of theoretical material, and practice how to provide life-saving medical treatment in a complex multi-casualty event.”

During August, about 250 MDA youth volunteers will be trained in the first aid course and some 220 will be trained in the Young Instructors course. The graduates of the training course will guide youth who join MDA throughout the country in an annual course in which they will study first aid, educational, ethical and humanitarian content including: Israeli identity, effects of alcohol and smoking, disease prevention and more.

In addition, the new instructors will guide the general public in MDA’s resuscitation project in malls and other public venues.
