Three Arrested On Har Habayis For Skit To Rebuild Bais Hamikdash

Three visitors to the Har Habayis were arrested on Tisha B’Av for pantomiming a skit about rebuilding the Third Beis Hamikdash. The three people are members of the advocacy group known as “Students for the Temple Mount” arrived at the entrance to the Temple Mount clad in work clothes and hard hats, and were carrying shovels. When they were asked about their attire, they responded and said that they had come to rebuild the third Beis Hamikdash. They were quickly arrested and removed from the area.

Attorney Moshe Polski, who represents the trio decried the arrest stating that police were denying his clients their freedom of speech. “This is an incomprehensible arrest of a number of students who came to perform a skit in order to awaken the people of Israel on the day we mourn the destruction of the Temple. The Israel Police arrested the students without any justification and for no apparent reason.”

The students were among ten people who were arrested on Sunday at the Temple Mount. Nine of those ten were Jewish, including one person who was arrested for bowing down at the site. One Arab teenager was arrested after he confronted Jewish visitors to the site and shouted Palestinian slogans at them and waved a Palestinian flag.

The status quo of the Temple Mount, which is administered by the Waqf – a Jordanian-based Islamic trust, states that non-Muslims are prohibited from praying or making religious gestures on the Temple Mount

It should be noted that Gedolei Yisrael throughout the generations along with the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, have prohibited visiting Har Habayis as there is an Issur Kares.

  1. Arabs can bow down but we can not? Religious discrimination!

We should file a suit against the state and the police.

the state can accept two sex perverts who claim to be married, why can it not see the religious discrimination against Jews???
