The NYPD has released a report that breaks down its controversial stop and frisk policy by precinct and race.
The 2011 figures show that nearly 90 percent of those who were stopped for “reasonable suspicion” were black or Hispanic. Together, the two groups make up less than 53 percent of the city’s population.
Brooklyn’s 75th precinct, covering East New York and Cypress Hills, had the most stops. Ninety-seven of the more than 31,000 people who were stopped were black or Hispanic.
The next highest area with stops was Brooklyn’s 73rd precinct covering Brownsville. It had over 25,000 stops with 98 percent involving minorities.
The figures show a total of 685,724 people were detained in 2011.
The New York Civil Liberties Union fought for the release of the figures last year.

i had my entire car searched 9 times within 1 year(the last year i was legally eligable to drive) and paid on average over 1000 dollars in frivilous tickets per year for 8 years in a row, my license was suspended or revoked taken for non-payment of tickets etc etc 6-8 times in my life..
i have my license suspended in three different states at the moment because of racist cops. in virginia its suspended for having a pine tree air freshener hanging in the rear view mirror as directed on the package, apparently its illegal there even for someone that was just passing through on the interstate with out of state plates…. they made me get out of my car on the interstate on a bridge with a 3 foot rail and stand there for 30 minutes while they searched my car, degraded me and apparently tried to make me jump over the rail.
i told the western european fbi agents this when i went in to report high-tech racist business fraud and theft and they lauged at me out loud when they saw my peyos and they made it very clear to me that they were racist and that their organization was foundationaly racist and that theirs nothing at all anybody’s going to do about it.
the adl, aclu, naacp say “sorry thats not something we handle, go to the police”.
I would like to know: Out of the people frisked, what per centage were found with something or were wanted by the law? Of the 90% of blacks and hispanics that were frisked, what per centage were found with something or were wanted by the law? What age group were the 90% from?
“Ninety-seven of the more than 31,000 people who were stopped were black or Hispanic.”
This works out to .0031% give or take a couple of thousandths of a percent. Doesnt sound like these groups are being singled out at all.
