In the past two days, 131 children of Zichron Menachem (ages 6-25) have been hosted by the Border Police who are suffering from cancer, just before they fly to for an eight-day vacation in France.

This is the 26th year in which Border Police units have been involved in the hosting of the children of Zichron Menachem, a non-profit organization that supports and supports children with cancer and their families.

The Border Policemen’s visit began on Sunday, 25 Tammuz, with the arrival of 131 children from the organization to the unit, where they were exposed to the capabilities of the unit, including forced entry into and taking control of a building, as well as talking with a combatant in the unit, who explained the challenges faced by troops.

In addition, the children were introduced to the Border Police K9 unit including operational exercises carried out by the dogs, the Israel Police Mounted Unit, which presented the impressive horses and the aerial unit of the police, which presented one of the new helicopters which was recently equipped.

The 131 children boarded 57 Border Police vehicles from around the country, toured jeeps from Jerusalem and ended at the Alexandroni Monument in Latrun where they passed through a wide range of stations that presented the various means of the Israel Police and the tactical use of the Border Police tactical brigade, while integrating camouflage forces in the area.

In the midst of the event and to the surprise of the children, a police helicopter landed next to them, bringing ices to the children.

During the day, each child received a balloon on which was written his wish, most of which were related to recovery from cancer. The balloons bloomed together with the children and the fighters in the hope that their wishes would come true.

At the end of the two significant days, the children and their escorts from the Border Police visited the Kosel Plaza in Jerusalem.
