MKs Shuli Muallem (Bayit Yehudi), Amir Ochana (Likud) and Yehuda Glick (Likud) visited Har Habayis on Monday, following the lifting of the prohibition blocking elected officials from visiting the holy site.

They were accompanied by five students aligned with Students for Har Habayis, who praised the decision of the MKs to visit the site.

On Sunday, Minister Uri Ariel and MK Sharren Haskell visited the site, on the first day the ban was lifted.

While the elected officials, both MKs and cabinet ministers are permitted to visit the site, these visits have limitations as spelled out by Knesset Speaker Yuli Edelstein in his directive to the Knesset.

It should be noted that Gedolei Yisrael throughout the generations along with the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, have prohibited visiting Har Habayis as there is an Issur Kares.
