More Defense for Northern Israel Awaiting Syrian Move

Israeli officials remain silent and Syria has not responded to the bombing of weapons convoy heading to Lebanon last week but in Jerusalem, the experts continue to carefully monitor the situation and northern forces remain on high alert.

A Patriot missile battery was stationed in Haifa last week along with an Iron Dome system near Tzfas. A third unit, another Iron Dome, was placed in the Jezreel Valley as Israel is not taking chances. The IDF has moved troop reinforcements to northern areas as well, and in Kiryat Shmona, the Golan Heights and other northern areas, residents have prepared bomb shelters in the event there is an attack from Syria or Hizbullah.

Israel has not officially accepted responsibility for the aerial attack against the weapons convoy but foreign media reports stated it was Israel. In addition, Lebanon reported seeing IAF fighter planes operating over the area last week coinciding with the time of the aerial attacks.
