Heat advisories remain in effect through 9 p.m. Tuesday for the New York City and surrounding areas.

Watch for a stray thunderstorm north and west of the city. Highs in the low 90s will feel like nearly 100 degrees, especially from the city north and west.
Tuesday night will be hazy, warm and humid again with a low in the mid 70s. There could be an evening thunderstorm in a few spots, mainly north and west.
The heatwave looks to break on Wednesday, but it’ll still be very warm and humid with an afternoon thunderstorm in a few spots. Highs should stay in the upper 80s, but low 80s at the beaches. Expect patchy clouds and temperatures in the upper 70s on Wednesday night.
Thursday will be hot and humid with a mixture of clouds and sunshine as highs make another run at 90 degrees. There can be a thunderstorm, especially north and west of the city.
Friday will be quite warm and humid with a couple of showers and thunderstorms likely, some of which could cause flooding downpours and damaging wind gusts. Highs will be in the upper 80s.
We’ll finally see some relief by the weekend, with both Saturday and Sunday featuring sunny skies and low humidity. Expect highs in the low 80s on Saturday and mid 80s on Sunday.
