Based on Lebanese media information, it is now being reported that the Israel Air Force acted in two waves, beginning on Tuesday afternoon at 16:30 and followed by a second sortie beginning at 21:30 Tuesday night, the eve of 19 Shevat 5773. Four fighter jets were involved in each operation, targeting a “weapons convoy that was traveling along the Syrian Lebanon border”.
Once again, there is total silence from official Israeli sources regarded the reported aerial attacks, possibly aimed at halting the transport of nonconventional weapons into Hizbullah hands in S. Lebanon.
IDF officials are confirming that request for gas mask protection kits in northern areas have tripled since Air Force Commander Major-General Amir Eshel released his warning regarding Syria on Tuesday.
