A random thought:
You know those clip-on ties, that present the appearance of wearing a tie, without the bother of actually having to wrap it around your neck and tie a knot?
Is there such a thing as clip-on tzitzis? I.e. strings that clip onto your pants so that it looks like you’re wearing a four-cornered garment with tzitzis.
There is such a product, marketed by and for people who have no knowledge of the Halacha. Such ציצית are absolutely פסול because of the rule of תעשה ולא מן העשוי. Suppose you have a garment has three corners, and you attach ציצית to them, and then modify the garment so that it has a fourth corner. שלחן ערוך says clearly that you will need to untie the three ציצית which you had attached prior to the garment having had four corners, and put them on again (משנה ברורה points out that this means they must be completely untied).
The company that makes them is the same one which makes the seforim to carry around that just have bindings and covers and no pages inside to give the Oilam the impression that you are always learning.
Do they have tefillin where the batim are plastic, the straps are electric tape, and the parchments inside are actually pages from Mark Twain’s Huckleberry Finn?
Yes, they are made by Reformists just google it and it even comes with fake Tchelus . Even the mitzvah of Tzizit they need to somehow destroy…
