PA Preempts With a Call to Diplomacy

In a basically benign and repetitive statement that while buy points with the White House, senior PA (Palestinian Authority) official Yasser Abed Rabbo did not waste time, releasing a call to Israel on Thursday 13 Shevat 5773 that “Palestinian President Abu Mazen would like to negotiate with Israeli politicians to advance the peace process before the new coalition is formed to ensure the critical issues remain on the agenda”.

“The Israeli parties, especially the new ones, will be invited to the West Bank for a dialogue on future agreements” Abed Rabbo stated, concluding “the Palestinians have not given up on the demand to freeze settlement construction as a precondition to returning to the negotiating table.”

Earlier in the day, Yisrael Beitenu leader MK Avigdor Lieberman told Israel Radio the new administration will be willing to resume talks with the PA without any preconditions.
