Protesters were outside the home of Justice Minister (Bayit Yehudi) Ayelet Shaked, demanding she remove the media gag order surrounding the Shin Bet torture of suspects arrested for the Duma arson murders.

A bit over a dozen youths participated in the protest on Wednesday evening, outside the senior minister’s Tel Aviv home. They demanded that the classified information, which they insist addresses Shin Bet torture of the detainees, some minors, be released to the public, some carrying signs, “Jews do not torture Jews”.

There are rabbonim, prominent rabbonim in the dati leumi community, including moderate such a Rabbi Dr. Yuval Cherlow, who are calling for an independent board of inquiry to probe allegations the defendants are innocent, but torture was used to extract statement of admission from them.

Three members of the Darawshe family of the PA (Palestine Authority) perished in a fire attributed to an arson attack, which the Shin Bet reports was carried out by nationalistic Jews who they alleged were tortured into confessing a crime they did not commit.

The Darawshe family has since filed a NIS 10 million lawsuit.
