Speaking at a Gimmel election rally in Haifa, Rav Meir Porush calls on supporters to get out and vote and for each person to make sure his spouse, family and friends do the same, stressing the importance of this election and having a strong chareidi representation in the 19th Knesset. He called on supporters to speak with neighbors to make sure all eligible voters get out and vote on Election Day.
Porush speaks of the Kiddush Hashem that can emerge from the election if the chareidim are successful, highlighting the call of the hour, the pressing issues that directly impact the Bnei Torah tzibur throughout Eretz Yisrael.
As he continued with his address Porush explained the “hour is critical for even the prime minister is involved with the share the burden issue” rather than deal with the existential threats facing Israel today, the weapons of mass destruction. Therefore he extrapolated, it is critical for everyone to vote Yahadut Hatorah to empower the chareidi elected officials to bring about a change it what appears will be a harsh gezeira against the Bnei Torah tzibur at large.

This is untrue & unfair – Netanyahu has NOT AT ALL been more interested in the drafting of chareidim over the Iran threat!! I don’t even like Netanyahu all that much and I can say that with comments like these from Porush, it’s all the MORE reason NOT TO VOTE FOR Yahadut HaTorah!!! The prime minister has been working VERY hard to deal with the Iran threat while the chareidi parties literally do NOTHING about it. They simply sell their vote to the highest bidder. Whichever politician or party offers the most money for the chareidi yeshivas and avreichim. The chareidi parties SHOULD care and act for our security but alas, they’d rather sit there and rely on Hashem’s miracles to save us. Of course, here I must remind you that Hashem doesn’t work that way – He demands that we do our hishtadlus by working to secure our lives. Hashem does not allow us to “just” daven and learn and then await miracles. Yes, the davening & learning are what make our hishtadlus effective & successful but we still must put in that hishtadlus.
Staying far away from loshon harah is also a good bet — yes, even about the prime minister of what you many refer to as the “treif medinah.”
Over the years, MK Porush has been a liability to the United Torah Front…can’t just talk and say what enters your head, it must be based on facts, accuracy and info.
