Family Suffers Poisoning Following Fumigation In Petach Tikvah Apartment

Fire and Rescue Service personnel, as well as United Hatzalah volunteers and Magen David Adom staff, retrieved two parents and four children who were lightly injured from poison after the building in which they live was fumigated.

The incident took place on Ruth Street in Petach Tikvah. A spokesperson for the Central region branch of the Fire and Rescue Services said: “Firefighters together with Hazmat Unit and Monitoring team from the Fire and Rescue Services worked to evacuate the family of residents from a high concentration of fumigation chemicals that were in the apartment on Ruth Street in Petach Tikvah.

Our monitoring team found a dangerously high concentration of chemicals in the building and has deemed the entire building unliveable for the moment. We have contacted the relevant environmental authorities and evacuated the entire building.”

The mother, father, grandmother and three children from one of the apartments were transported to the hospital for observation.
