A 14-year-old chareidi youth who was taken into custody this week as a suspect in an attack against an IDF soldier in Meah Shearim, together with his father. A court decided to release them on bail. Attorney for the minor, Nadav Gedalyahu is quoted telling Kikar Shabbos News the court used its judgement regarding the age of the minor and the actions he is accused of. He felt there was no justification for the minor to remain behind bars, and could be released on bail.
A 21-year-old was also arrested and released on NIS 5,000 bail. In all cases, police asked to extend their remand, but the court declined the request.

Now for the facts. There was no 21 year old male, rather a 19 year old male. He was arrested at a protest this monday in Beit Shemesh against the tampering of a Beis Hachayim by archeologists. The police decided to kill 2 birds with one stone, and blamed him for the attack against the soldier with out providing any evidence that he participated in the attack (which consisted of throwing eggs and tomatoes, not exactly an attack, but still wrong).
The judge realizing the lack of evidence threw the case out.
