There were protests on Thursday morning 3 Sivan to prevent ongoing construction to widen Highway 38, the main road leading to and from Beit Shemesh. The protesters claim the ongoing work to add lanes compromises ancient kevarim.
Several dozen chareidim arrived and tried to prevent construction crews from carrying on their work, and police arrived on the scene.
Police were tenacious in distancing the protesters immediately, permitting construction to continue. Police arrested three of the protesters.
