An election poll carried out by the Sarid Institute for Israel Radio polled 1,000 Israelis who identify themselves as centrist/left-wing. Perhaps the big news from this poll is R’ Amnon Yitzchak emerges with more seats than most expect he will earn in the election.
The respondents blame The Movement leader Tzipi Livni for sabotaging efforts to create a centrist/left-wing bloc including her party, Labor and Yesh Atid. 81% of the respondents blame Livni, while 51% blame Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid. The same number, 51% blame Labor leader Shelly Yacimovich.
Respondents were permitted to vote for more than one person as the responsible party sabotaging the centrist/left-wing effort. The results of the poll were released on the Thursday morning 28 Teves 5773 Israel Radio HaKol Diburim Show.
In line with the poll, the right-wing bloc will earn 71 seats while the centrist/left-wing will be left with 49. Likud/Beitenu earns 34 seats, Labor 17, HaBayit HaYehudi 14, Shas 9, Yahadut Hatorah 7, and Yesh Atid 7.
While most polls show the Koach L’Hashpiah Party of Rav Amnon Yitzchak does not succeed in passing the minimum threshold, this poll shows him receiving 4 seats. Meretz and Hadash both receive 4 seats while Balad and Ra’am-Ta’al both receive 3. Kadima and Otzma Yisrael are on the border of clearing the minimum threshold, both earning 2 seats and lastly, Am Shalem, the party affiliated with Rabbi Chaim Amsellem receives 2 seats.
