An appeal has been made for witnesses to an antisemitic attack in which two young Jewish boys were “racially assaulted, verbally and physically”.

The incident took place on Sunday evening in Golders Green, North-West London, at the North Circular Road crossing between Golders Green Road and Brent Street.

Both the police and the North-West London branch of the Shomrim neighbourhood security group were called in the wake of the incident.

Shomrim released the following statement to YWN:

On Sunday at approximately 7:30PM at the North Circular Road (A406) crossing between Golders Green Road and Brent Street, 2 young Jewish boys were racially assaulted, verbally and physically.

Shomrim and Police were called. Shomrim volunteers detained the suspect who was subsequently arrested by Police.

A Jewish man who witnessed the violent attack stopped his vehicle and got out to assist the victims but did not leave contact details with the victims.

His evidence is extremely crucial to ensure the perpetrator faces prosecution. We therefore appeal to this witness to please make himself known to Shomrim by calling our 24 hr control room on 03009991234 , so that we can arrange for Police to take a statement from him at the earliest opportunity.
