WP: By the time shoppers line up at the register of Simply Kosher, a new deli in Rockville, they understand what hamish means. Chances are they’ve already been offered a taste of Shari Shor’s freshly prepared kosher salads,? or kibbitzed with her husband Larry, who is wise in the ways of meats and poultry…….Because Simply Kosher adheres to the highest orthodox supervision for food preparation, a rabbi is always behind the bank of refrigerated deli cases — but he’s not there to take orders. On a recent visit, one could watch as Rabbi Gedalia Walls, a member of the Rabbinical Council of Greater Washington, inspected the water left behind in the cleansing of herbs that Shari planned to use for her roasted tricolor cauliflower with onions and Dijon-style mustard ($6.99 per pound). Although her gazpacho with fresh mint and fiesta bean salad with corn ($6.99 and $5.99 per pound) might be on hand early in the week, Shari gears most of the cooking toward Thursday and Friday, when people shop for the Sabbath…..
