This Friday, 19 Iyar, Jerusalem is sponsoring the international cycling race Giro D’Italia, which is billed as “one of the largest and most important sports events in the world and the largest in Israel”
As a result, the following changes will be in effect:
King Solomon Street between Kikar Tzahal and HaMeches Junction (Agron St. Junction and King David) will be closed to traffic in both directions from 11:00AM Thursday until Friday at 6:00PM.
Drivers, traffic will be permitted from north to south in both directions via Minheret Tzahal only.
The light rail will be operating and one is advised to use it.
Drivers are urged to stay away from King David, Agron and area streets.
From 8:00PM Thursday, Yitzhak Kariv (from Shar Yaffo to Tzomet HaMeches) until Friday at 6:00PM.

Following is an update from CityPass, which operates the Jerusalem light rail.
Between the hours of 12:30 until 5:15PM, in both directions: There will be service between Pisgat Ze’ev and Shar Shechem as well as between Har Herzl and HaTurim.
There will be service between HaTurim and Jaffa Street, there will be limited service on one rail.
