“I have many questions that are still unresolved,” Moshe Teitelbaum, the Director-General of United Hatzalah, said earlier this week regarding Deputy Health Minister’s recent conduct vis-à-vis his organization.
Teitelbaum’s remarks in an interview with the Mendy and Betan program on the Kan Moreshet Radio, come after the tension between United Hatzalah and MDA deteriorated in the last few days, against the backdrop of an article published this weekend in the Agudas Yisrael-affiliated Hamodia newspaper, in which he blatantly attacked UH.
Under the heading “Rescue or the photographer,” the newspaper harshly criticized rescue volunteers who were filming disaster scenes, while clarifying that they were not MDA volunteers. This article came in the wake of the fatal accident in which a member of the Gerrer Chassidus family was killed, irresponsible information that hurt the families of the victims of the accident.
Teitelbaum made it clear this morning that even though Litzman had taken care of UH in the past, he understood that Litzman had to defend MDA’s position in his post as the deputy health minister, but he asks that Litzman authorize UH to receive the same call information as MDA receives as UH volunteers have the same training as Magen David Adom. Whoever says they come to photograph, simply sins for the cause,” Teitelbaum stated.
Teitelbaum called on Litzman and other officials in the Ministry of Health to give credit to UH for its abilities to save lives, adding he hopes that in the future, there will be cooperation.
