“The State of Israel will no longer be able to accept terror against Jews. We will pursue anyone wherever he is, even at the edge of the world, and bring him alive to court or die in a cemetery”, stated Minister of Housing (Yesh Atid) Yoav Galant on Sunday morning, at the ceremony laying the cornerstone for the new ZAKA World Headquarters in Jerusalem.
The ceremony was held on Sunday morning, 7, Iyar, in Jerusalem, with the participation of the Chief Rabbi of Israel Rabbi Dovid Lau, Chief Sephardi Rabbi of Jerusalem Rabbi Shlomo Moshe Amar, the Minister of Construction and Housing Maj.-Gen. (reserves) Yoav Galant, Ministry of Housing and other officials on the national and local level.
Rabbi David Lau praised the family of donors and said that “ZAKA is an organization whose essence is caring for everyone, not only in life but also after death.” The house that will be built here in eastern Jerusalem will be a home of light all over the world, and we hope you will not have a lot of work, but if you do, you will be able to be the ones who help in any situation”.
Galant added, “The world rests on three things, Torah, on Avoda and Gemilus Chassidim. Gemilus Chassidim is ZAKA, which is involved in the highest form of chessed since the dead are unable to repay the kindness. Therefore, when I look at what the organization does and what you know of from close-up, and these are things I know back from the days when I served as a major-general in the IDF as an aide to Arik Sharon. I know that this requires the strength of the soul that every human being does not have. Unlike the other rescue organizations, I wish you had the least work.”
Minister Galant also said; “The State of Israel will no longer be able to accept terror against Jews. We will pursue anyone wherever he is, even at the edge of the world, and bring him alive to court or die in a cemetery.”
At the end of his speech, Galant praised the activities of ZAKA Chairman Yehuda Meshi Zahav, for his blessed work on behalf of the people of Israel.
